Gregory L. Rippetoe
Mr. Rippetoe has in excess of 28 years of civil litigation and trial experience in the areas of general civil and public entity litigation, business and contract disputes, construction claims, insurance coverage and indemnity matters, and handling serious personal injury and wrongful death litigation.
In the contract and construction areas, Mr. Rippetoe has represented individuals, business owners, builders, general contractors, subcontractors, and construction managers. He has successfully handled construction matters for his clients on claims involving projects ranging in size from custom single family homes up through large commercial projects, such as schools, hospitals, civic centers, train stations, and police facilities. His expertise includes handling matters in the areas of construction defect, mechanics' liens, stop notices, bond claims, delay and schedule impact claims, damage to underground utilities, and landslide and subsidence matters. In addition, he has represented major boa ting manufacturers in claims involving warranty, manufacturing and dealership agreement issues.
In addition, Mr. Rippetoe represents a number of local government entities in the defense of claims brought under the Government Claims Act, such as dangerous condition and premises liability, as well as claims including inverse condemnation, nuisance, contract, and public works construction matters. He has successfully negotiated disputes and obtained reimbursement for his clients on issues involving complex insurance coverage and contractual indemnity issues.
In the area of general liability, Mr. Rippetoe handles litigation including serious personal injury and wrongful death arising from automobile or trucking accidents, premises liability, products liability, and work site accidents. These claims have been resolved through the use of aggressive pleading strategies as well as being resolved through mediation, arbitration or trial.
Mr. Rippetoe has successfully tried numerous jury trials to verdict in Superior Courts in both Northern and Southern California. In addition, he has obtained successful results for his clients in excess of 50 bench trial verdicts and binding and non-binding arbitrations.
